Finding Purpose and Strength Through Work: My Journey as a Working Mom

Finding Purpose and Strength Through Work: My Journey as a Working Mom

Work has always been an integral part of my identity.

Ever since graduating from school, I’ve been working. The idea of not working always felt foreign to me—it was part of my rhythm, my routine, and my sense of self.

So, when I got married and took a break from work to adjust to new household responsibilities, I found myself feeling strangely disconnected.

It was as if a part of me had quietly gone missing.

Though marriage brought its own joys and lessons, I couldn’t shake the sense that I had lost something vital: my sense of purpose. I struggled to adapt to a life without work, and while I was doing my best in a new role, I longed for the part of me that found meaning outside the home.

When I became pregnant, I made the decision to return to work—not out of pressure or necessity, but because I genuinely felt more alive when I was working.

Work gave me more than just a paycheck—it gave me structure, independence, and the opportunity to grow as an individual. It helped me reclaim a part of myself that I had put on pause.

Then, life took an unexpected turn. I became a single mother. And with that, work became even more essential—not just to provide for my child, but as a source of emotional strength and healing.

It gave me a space to channel my energy and focus amidst the uncertainty and emotional toll of single motherhood.

The weight I carried wasn’t always visible to others, but having a professional identity helped me feel grounded again, slowly rebuilding my confidence and resilience.

Still, one of my biggest challenges was finding a workplace that truly supported and understood the needs of a mother. I never stayed long in one company, not because I lacked commitment, but because it was hard to find a place that offered both emotional support and financial security.

Some companies were empathetic but couldn’t provide the stability I needed to sustain a home. Others paid well but lacked understanding, flexibility, or compassion. I constantly felt like I had to choose between my well-being and my livelihood.

That was, until I found Milkforbubs.

Milkforbubs isn’t just a brand that supports moms through its products—it’s a company that genuinely cares for mothers behind the scenes, too. For me, it’s more than a workplace. It’s a community.

A space that recognizes, respects, and uplifts women for all they are: mothers, professionals, individuals with stories that matter.

The sincerity of the team is visible in every part of the business—from the way they develop products, to how they treat people.

At Milkforbubs, I’m not just an employee — I’m a mom whose experiences are seen and valued. The team understands the realities of motherhood and creates a working environment where we can thrive in both roles, without guilt or compromise.

Meeting Nisa and the team has been one of the greatest blessings in my journey as a working mom. The kindness, empathy, and genuine care they’ve shown is something I never thought I’d find in a professional setting.

In moments when I felt overwhelmed or alone, they reminded me that I am not alone. I am supported. I am enough.

For that, I am endlessly grateful.

Thank you, Milkforbubs, for embracing motherhood in all its forms—for showing that work and motherhood don’t have to compete, but can beautifully coexist. And most of all, thank you for helping me feel whole again.
